
Five students will be representing Greece in the European Student Parliament on Science which will take place at Copenhagen in 20-22 June 2014 during ESOF 2014.
The Greek Student Parliament took place in April in Ellinogermaniki Agogi school, for the first time in Greece and was organised by Science View. During the event more than 100 students elected their representatives who are going to Copenhagen in June to attend the European Student Parliaments on Science in ESOF 2014. The Euroscience Open Forum – ESOF is the largest conference for scientists and research organisations of all scientific disciplines in Europe.
The five Greek students who were elected are:
– Giannis Katochoritis from Ekpaideutiria Giannopoulou
– Melina Megalogianni, from Zanneio Protypo Peiramatiko Lykeio Peiraia
– Dimitris Marousis fron 3rd Highschool of Glyfada
– Dimitris Xynos, from Protypo Peiramatiko Lykeio Evaggelikis Sholis
– Eleni Papailia-Voutsina, from 1st Protypo Peiramatiko Highschool of Athens
The EUSP project aims at strengthening the dialogue and exchange between students and scientists, introducing students to parliamentary procedures on science and research, enabling students to form a qualified opinion and to assess complex topics, and introducing students to a European community. Students from 16 European countries will discuss on “The future of our city”: future mobility, demography, civil participation, urban resources, energy efficient houses and flats and smart city. The students will be discussing:
– Future mobility – New approaches in the city
– Demography in the city
– City. Climate. Change.
– Energy efficient houses and flats
– Smart city: life in an urban network
The European Student Parliaments on Science is organised by Wissenschaft im Dialog and is co-funded by Robert Bosch Stiftung. The Greek event was organised by Science View and was co-organised by the National University of Athens, School of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology, and Ellinogermaniki Agogi, under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Education and Religions.
