“Bullying: Teenagers and violence. What it’s about and how to deal with it. ”
Science View is now active in the Social Sciences and announces a series of relevant events and initiatives. We start with a Science Cafe at Ianos (Stadiou 24, Athens), concerning “Bullying: Teenagers and violence. What it’s about and how to deal with it”. It will be an open event-discussion that will take place on Wednesday 18th February 2015 at 18.00.
Experts will discuss with the audience about verbal, social, physical and cyber bullying that frequently affects adolescents:
• Mocking, discrimination, embarrassing comments
• Rumour-spreading, destruction of personal belongings, isolation from the group
• Physical violence
• Bullying through the internet, e-mails, texts
Speakers:
• Artemis Tsitsika, Assistant Professor of Child-Adolescent Medicine, Principal Investigator at The Adolescent Health Unit of the Second Department of Pediatrics of the University of Athens
• Zaharoula Smyrnaiou, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, Pedagogics and Psychology, Pedagogics Sector of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens
• Eleni K.Tzavela, Developmental Psychologist ΜSc., Parent and Adolescent Counsellor- Behavior therapist, Scientific Associate at The Adolescent Health Unit of the Second Department of Pediatrics of the University of Athens and the Unit of Behaviour Therapy of the Hellenic Center of Mental Health and Research.
