GSO4SCHOOL Summer School 2020
The final report on the 7th World Conference of Science Journalists, held in Doha, 27 – 29 June 2011, is now on line.
Despite tremendous challenges due to events in Cairo, the bi-annual world summit of science journalists was held successfully on time.
The report provides an overview of the Conference and many comments from the participants.
Eight hundred delegates from 89 countries, of which more than 50 percent of delegates were from the developing world, met in Doha. More than 200 journalists could come thanks to scholarships provided by the Conference, the World Federation of Science Journalists, EUSJA and many other organizations. In fact, 39 sponsoring organizations providing more than US $ 1.6 million in support, with the key support coming from the Qatar Foundation.
