GSO4SCHOOL Summer School 2020
The 1st MuSci Café organized by Science View and MusicHeaven and friendly hosted at Ianos had been warmly received by the audience, who asked for another opportunity to discuss issues related to Science and Music. This time our subject is “Music and Medicine”and it will be organized on the 21st of June.
Since antiquity, music therapy is known to influence and is associated with physical and mental health. Nowadays the scientific evidence about how music affects human beings is compelling. Researches in the fields of cardiology, neurology, psychology, education and support for people with disabilities have proven the music impact on the patient. “Music can help stroke victims to walk, terminal patients to relax, mothers to give birth, troubled teens to learn social skills, students to study, Alzheimer’s patients to remember, and even unborn children to respond to the environment around them.”
The MuSci Café is an active discussion, a search and production of knowledge and awareness of the general public on the combination of Music and Science.
The second cycle MuSci Cafe is titled “Music and Medicine: Music as a remedy” and the full program of the event can be downloaded from here (only in Greek).
The MuSci Cafe will be hosted at Ianos June, 21 2011, at 19:00, during the World Day of Music.
Participation to the Cafe is free though you need to register.
