After a successful trip of science journalists to the ITER complex in 2013, EUSJA is now organizing a second trip, considering that the project has entered a new phase of construction. The trip to Cadarache will take place 18-19 May 2015 and EUSJA provides 20 slots for free accommodation in a hotel at Aix-en-Provence, including meal and transfers.
Apply now for one of the 20 slots by sending your application to info@scienceview.gr by the 14th February 2015. In order for your application to be considered you must be a science journalist and member of Science View.
ITER is a large-scale scientific experiment aiming to prove the viability of fusion as a safe, abundant and environmentally responsible energy source, and to collect the data necessary for the design and operation of the first electricity-producing fusion power plant.
ITER construction has begun in Cadarache, southern France, while manufacturing of components for ITER is underway in Members’ industries all over the world. The level of coordination required for the successful fabrication of over one million parts for the ITER Tokamak alone is creating a new model of international scientific collaboration.
